Diagnostics
In-house Blood Work
A standard complete blood count (CBC) evaluates the levels of 10 different components across all major blood cell types: white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets. This test focuses on key components such as red blood cell count, hemoglobin, and hematocrit. Results are typically available in approximately under 10 minutes.
In-house Urinalysis
Urinalysis is a standard examination that provides insights into the physical and chemical characteristics of urine. Primarily utilized to evaluate kidney and urinary system health, it can also uncover issues in other organ systems. Additionally, urinalysis plays a crucial role in diagnosing metabolic disorders like diabetes mellitus.
In-house X-rays
Radiographs are employed to diagnose diseases affecting the chest, abdomen, and musculoskeletal system. They represent the oldest and most commonly utilized form of veterinary medical imaging, aiding in the identification of conditions such as pneumonia, heart failure, cancer, and numerous other potentially life-threatening ailments. In certain situations, sedation of your pet may be necessary, with specific instructions provided by the doctor.
In-house Ultrasounds
Dr. AJ is a certified sonographer, trained to conduct ultrasounds and provide detailed interpretation of results. This invaluable technique allows for thorough examination of internal organs and initially gained prominence in veterinary medicine for pregnancy diagnosis. However, it is also highly effective in assessing heart conditions and detecting alterations in abdominal organs. Ultrasonography proves particularly useful in identifying cysts and tumors.
In-house Cytologys
Cytology involves the microscopic analysis of cells gathered from the body. Various techniques are employed to collect cells from body surfaces, including skin scrapings, impression smears, swabs, and flushes. Following collection, the cells are scrutinized under a microscope.
In-house Snap Tests
- CPLi snap tests for dogs gauge the concentration of pancreas-specific lipase in the blood, aiding in making accurate diagnoses with confidence. Canine pancreatitis, a potentially life-threatening condition, poses challenges in diagnosis.
- The 4Dx snap test for dogs offers a convenient and effective method to examine your dog’s blood, identifying potential infections transmitted by insects like ticks and mosquitoes.
- FeLV and FIV snap test represent feline leukemia virus and feline immunodeficiency virus, respectively.
- fPLI snap test stands for feline Pancreatic Lipase Immunoreactivity, a unique lipase exclusively present in feline pancreatic tissue.
Sent to the Lab
Certain diagnostic tests conducted at our facility necessitate additional evaluation at the laboratory. We collaborate with Idexx as our designated laboratory for such requirements. These tests encompass histopathologies, specialized blood work, urine analysis and cultures, fecal tests, ringworm testing, and various other diagnostic procedures.
